Shapovalov: “Not all Players Are Being Heard” About Wimbledon Points

The tennis tour has arrived at the grass season, and with Wimbledon coming up fast the issue of points at Wimbledon is on the mind of a lot of players.

Canada’s Denis Shapovalov has 720 points to defend at The Championships, but with the ATP taking away the points from this years Wimbledon and not carrying over any of last years points, he has no way to make up the points he will be dropping.

Denis told us that the pressure to “salvage” some points from Wimbledon at the French Open (he didn’t play last year) was in the back of his mind during his first round exit to 19 year old Holger Rune.


Russians Still Banned from Wimbledon

Daniil Medvedev, Andrey Rublev and the other Russian and Belarusian players on the ATP/WTA are still banned from competing in Wimbledon.

Smaller grass court events leading up to Wimbledon are bound to see increased desire from top players - Russian or not - who want to capture the remaining available points on the green lush surface.

Here is Stuttgart, the BOSS Open is boasting a star studded line up including Stefanos Tsitsipas, Denis Shapovalov (lost R1), Andy Murray, Nick Kyrgios among other top names on the ATP tour.
