Wimbledon 2023 Championship Preview

via ATP Tour - Djokovic helps dry Centre Court during a rain delay in his R1 match vs Pablo Cachin.

The Championships at Wimbledon are underway in 2023, with Novak Djokovic starting the defence of his title on Centre Court as per tradition.

Elena Rybakina will start her title defence on Tuesday in her first round encounter vs Shelby Rogers.

Big Stories At Wimbledon

With neither Rafa Nadal nor Roger Federer at Wimbledon this year, there seems to be a narrowed list of storylines on the men’s side of the draw.

The main one being: Can anyone challenge Novak Djokovic?

Djokovic has more titles at Wimbledon than the rest of the field combined, and his experience at this tournament (and his 23 other Major titles) makes a seamingly insurmountable gab between him and his competition.

On the Women’s side of the draw, the trio of Iga Swiatek, Aryna Sabalenka, and Elyna Rybakina are the major contenders. With Iga Swiatek finding better form on the short grass pre-season, she is looking to win her first Wimbledon, and fifth Major overall.
